Washington County reported 177 additional COVID-19 cases this week
Maryland reported 15,403 new cases of coronavirus in the week ending Sunday, a 4.2% reduction from the previous week. Last week there were 16,083 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.
Maryland is ranked 19th among the fastest-spreading coronaviruses per capita, according to USA TODAY network analysis of Johns Hopkins University data. Last week, cases of coronavirus in the United States decreased by 11.3% from the previous week, and 702,236 cases were reported. Maryland ranks 11th in the state in terms of the percentage of people who have received at least one shot, with 86.5% of the population being vaccinated at least partially.
