Victoria Police has issued a statement outlining the fines for the last 24 hours:

• Individuals were fined a total of 97 for violating the instructions of the Chief Medical Officer
• 14 of these violations were issued at vehicle checkpoints
• Check 22,983 vehicles at vehicle checkpoints on major highways
• Conducted a 1038 spot check of people in homes, businesses and public places across the state
• A total of 160,075 spot checks conducted after March 21st

These include:

• The driver was stopped at a checkpoint in Bendigo, where he informed police that he was in the process of visiting a friend in Rochester. He was driving from Melbourne.
• Three young women were parked in a smoky car park. I told the officer they were hanging out after they finished their work. All were issued with infringement.

Of the 97 fines issued in the last 24 hours, 11 were due to not wearing face covers when leaving home for one of four approved reasons.

No new coronavirus infections have been reported in South Australia in the last 24 hours, resulting in 447 infections across the state.

Beginning next Wednesday, July 29, the new restrictions will apply to SA residents returning from Victoria.

Only significant travelers can enter SA from Victoria, but all other residents of South Australia can no longer return.

As Victoria’s chief medical officer Brett Sutton warns, “this is not the first wave,” as the number of active cases in Victoria is approaching 4000.

“We see this is a fashion curve that is very difficult to overcome. Professor Sutton told reporters. The challenge was always there. We knew it was not the first wave.”

“This number remains stubbornly high, has never risen significantly, and has not fallen significantly last week.

“I have a problem with every outbreak I’ve listed. I know people talked about Stage 4 and the wider lockdown, but just where the outbreaks are seen, exactly where the outbreaks are seen. That place… these are the areas we need to focus on, and we shouldn’t pretend to address where the infection is seen due to a truly widespread industry closure.”

• 60 cases related to Menarock Life Aged Care in Essendon.
• 49 cases related to Glendale Aged Care in Werribee.
• 45 cases associated with Colac’s Australian rum company.
• 44 cases related to Heidelberg Esther Health.
• Twenty-three cases associated with the Baptcare Wyndham Lodge in Werribee.
• Twenty-two cases associated with Brighton’s Regis Aged Care.
• 21 cases associated with Mulgrave’s Woolworths Distribution Center.
• 10 cases related to Laverton’s StarTrack parcel distribution.
• Seven cases related to bingo recycling in West Melbourne.
• Five cases related to KFC Truganina staff.
• Five cases linked to the Melbourne CBD probe group.
• Two cases associated with D’Orsogna Meats in Mickleham.
• Two cases related to Alfred Health Grand Chancellor Hotel.

The coronavirus pandemic caused a “perfect storm,” with a shocking increase in the rate of domestic and domestic violence in Queensland.

Reports of domestic violence have increased by 23% since the onset of the pandemic, and police and support services point to a surge in the severity of atrocities and attacks on victims.

Preventing Home and Domestic Violence Minister Di Farmer said COVID-19 was a nightmare for frontline people.

“It created a whole storm of loss of income, unemployment, financial hardship, substance abuse, and anxiety, and caused a great deal of challenge to victims of domestic violence,” she said.

Gisborne Secondary College in Victoria was closed after the school reported COVID-19 cases. The Ministry of Education confirmed at ABC this afternoon.

It is unknown if the school will reopen on Monday, but an email was sent to parents last night informing them that the school would be closed for the first 24 hours.

Located in Macedon Ranges Shire, outside the current Lockdown Zones of Melbourne and Mitchell Shire.

No new cases of coronavirus activity have been recorded in Western Australia.

However, according to a statement from the WA Department of Health, two historic cases have been identified, reaching 656 infections across the state.

“The historic case involved two women, one in their 20s and one in their 40s,” the statement said.

“Both are related to the trip abroad this March, one of whom is a former passenger of the cruise ship Ruby Princess.
