Seven COVID-19 deaths reported in Minnesota on Thursday

Rochester, Minnesota — Minnesota reported 867 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, August 6th.

New cases included significant jumps in the Olmsted County, home of the Mayo Clinic (39 cases), and elevations in Scott, Sherburne, Stearns, and Dakota counties.

New cases have been reported in 14,940 tests.

An additional seven Minnesota died of this disease. One was killed in Anoka and Washington, two in Grant and three in Hennepin. Three of seven deaths were recorded among residents of long-term care.

The state has had no double-digit deaths since the beginning of July, while new cases continue to soar.

COVID-19 ICU use increased by 1 on Thursday to 153 and non-ICU admissions increased by 13 to 166.
