Nursing home becomes “prison” due to restrictions, charity warns government

Judy Downey, chair of the charity, criticized the government for acting too late to protect the care facility.

Chris Hopson, CEO of an NHS provider representing hospitals, criticized the government for halting efforts to isolate and track Covid-19 cases. Mass tests and traces were discontinued in March and did not resume until June when NHS tests and traces were deployed.
He told parliamentarians: “Testing and tracing should have been done three months earlier. Now we need to increase the percentage of people who participate in the testing and tracing system and give them more detail and segregation.”
