Central New York birds from backyard flocks positive for bird flu
WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. — Birds from a Madison County backyard poultry flock have tested positive for avian flu, officials said Wednesday.
About 15 ducks and geese herds will be euthanized to prevent further spread, according to county spokesperson Samantha Field.
Contact with the bird was limited to owners, Field said, and he would monitor symptoms for 10 days from the last possible exposure.
