Free flu vaccines to help the WA community do well during the winter

Cook government will give Western Australians free flu vaccinations in May and June?
All Western Australians who have been in the 6 months or longer are eligible for the vaccine, and getting vaccinated will help reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization this winter.
Influenza is a highly contagious respiratory disease and can lead to life-threatening complications.
The peak period for influenza infections in Western Australia is usually from June to September.
However, at this time of year, it is already higher than the regular influenza cases in Washington.
By March 12, 2025, WA had reported 3,442 flu cases so far.
Communities are being encouraged to get the flu vaccine, especially young children, elderly people, and children with underlying medical conditions, young children, young children, and young children as soon as possible.
It is especially recommended for people over the age of 65 who are at high risk of serious complications from the flu.
Outside of May and June, free flu vaccines are also available through the National Vaccination Program (NIP) or state-funded programs for those deemed at the highest risk of severe illness, including:

- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for six months. and

To access the free flu vaccine in May and June, people can book appointments at participating GPS, community pharmacies, Aboriginal health services, nurse clinics, corporate vaccination service providers and community health clinics.
Vaccines are free, but individual providers may charge consultation or service fees.
