Drug Performer COVID-19 Positive Customer Test at Gay Village Bar in Toronto
Toronto-Drug performers and customers test positive for COVID-19 at a popular bar in the Gay Village of Toronto.
On September 18, customers attended Crews & Tangos on the streets of Church and Wellsley between 8:30 pm and 11:30 pm, according to a Bar Instagram post, and then tested positive for the virus on Friday Midnight.
Crews & Tangos said the infected customer warned about the diagnosis by email on September 23.
On Friday, one of the bar performers was also notified that he was virus positive. Her last performance was September 18th.
Crew & Tangos requires all guests visiting the bar between September 18th and September 20th to take the COVID-19 test.
“This customer may not have known that the test yields COVID-19 results, but there was no way to know other than the precautions we are taking at this time,” read the Instagram statement. ..
“We take these issues seriously and need to close the doors for four to five days to do what is necessary to ensure the safety of our staff, patrons, and those who pass through the doors.”
The bar says it will offer refunds to customers who book this weekend.
Before resuming, the bar is tested before all their staff return to work, and the bar is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
The bar association also states that it will continue to strengthen social distances and adopt new alternatives to keep the bar association clean.
The positive case happens after the state announces new rules on alcohol sales on Friday.
As of 12:01 am on Saturday All Ontario Bars, Restaurants, Nightclubs Alcohol service must be stopped by 11:00 pm and the door must be closed completely by midnight except for take-out and delivery.
The state also ordered all strip clubs to temporarily close their doors by Saturday.

Ford did not say how long the new restrictions would be in effect.
