Friday Update: Oswego County Virus Cases 29-868 | Public Service News
OSWEGO — Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang announced on Friday, November 6, that 29 additional residents were COVID-19 positive and the total number of positive cases reached 868. 775 people have been released from quarantine. In Oswego County, there are five confirmed COVID-19-related deaths.
The positive cases reported today are from the cities of Oswego and Fulton, and nine towns around the county. Mr. Huang said: “Some communities tend to have more cases. Many of them are related to activities around Halloween.”
“Many of the recent cases are relatively young adults. They took a long time to develop symptoms or did not develop symptoms at all. Asymptomatic patients carrying the virus control the disease. The COVID-19 community infection is ongoing and people should always take precautions, considering that everyone may have the virus. “
The Oswego County Health Department monitors COVID-19 activity throughout the county and works closely with the State Health Department and community organizations to encourage residents to follow precautionary measures.

The Oswego County Health Department investigates all cases and, if necessary, places family members and close contacts in compulsory quarantine or quarantine. All known close contacts of COVID-19 positive patients will be notified.
