Arizona reports 3,474 COVID-19 cases that killed 44 people | National News
Phoenix (AP) — Arizona reported 3,474 known COVID-19 cases and 44 deaths on Thursday, increasing the state’s total at the time of the coronavirus outbreak to 314,326 and 6,568 deaths.
The State Health Department’s Coronavirus Dashboard also reported that as of Wednesday, 2,209 people were hospitalized with COVID-19, including 523 in intensive care unit beds.
The 7-day moving average for new cases and COVID-19 positive tests in Arizona has increased over the past two weeks, but the daily moving average for death has decreased. This is due to data from the Associated Press analyzed COVID tracking project and Johns Hopkins University.
The moving average of new cases increased from 2,076 on November 11 to 3,964 on Wednesday, the positive average increased from 15.1% to 20.1%, and the average of new deaths increased from 24.1 to 22.7.
