90 years old infected with “two viral variants at once”

A 90-year-old woman who died after getting sick with Covid-19 was infected with both alpha and beta variants of the coronavirus at the same time, Belgian researchers said on Sunday, underestimating the rare phenomenon. He added that it may have been done.

She said this is due to the limited testing of variants of concern and calls for increased use of fast PCR testing to detect mutations in known mutants.
In January, Brazilian scientists reported that the two were infected with two different strains of coronavirus at the same time, but the study has not yet been published in a scientific journal.
