Most of us have been stuck at home for almost two months. As one of the millions of debilitating Americans Chronic illness, I’ve been stuck at home for the last 10 years.

There is a symptom called ME /CFS.. Since my diagnosis, I had to drop out of class in advance, limit visits from friends, and give up hope for my family. And I’m one of the lucky ones. I can work at home and take a few walks around the dead end a few times a week. I have a supportive husband.

There are others in my condition who are completely tied up in bed. YouTube has a video of a girl named Jessica who has been sitting for the first time in seven years. Some people may find the video exciting. To me, it’s scary. If my condition deteriorates, it could be my existence.

In a sense, I sympathize with the protesters confronting the gloomy reality of being isolated at home. I have lived in the same frustrating beings that have propelled them to protest in the last few decades.

But I know they don’t know. There are actually two things. First, I know their behavior is spreading the virus. And second, we know how much more a virus can destroy a person’s life than most of the time, even if the virus survives.

My ME / CFS was caused by a virus infection. And I’m not the only one. Epstein-Barr, Coxsackie B, and SARS are all viruses associated with ME / CFS cases.
