More than 460 medical staff to quarantine after testing for COVID-19 positive in NB-New Brunswick
According to a news release, 469 health care workers have been quarantined after a positive virus test.
Public health reported 381 new PCR-confirmed cases in the state and self-reported 659 new rapid test positives.
Meanwhile, New Brunswick reported three more. COVID-19 (new coronavirus infection) Died on Monday.
Includes individuals from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.
Hospitalizations for COVID-19 complications reached 131, including 12 New Brunswick in the intensive care unit. Four patients are on mechanical ventilation. There are 3 COVID-19 patients under the age of 19.
Of those currently hospitalized, 74 were hospitalized for reasons other than COVID-19.
According to the state dashboard, the hospital’s COVID-19 occupancy is 86%, while the COVID-19 patient’s ICU is 88%.
The state continues to encourage residents, especially qualified infants, to book the COVID-19 vaccine.
“It is important for parents with children aged 5 to 11 to vaccinate their children to protect them from COVID-19 before resuming face-to-face learning or other activities,” said a medical officer. Dr. Jennifer Russell said in the release. ..
“This reduces the chance of getting the virus and spreading it to others.”
According to the announcement, 54.5% of eligible children receive the first dose and are eligible for a second dose 8 weeks after the first dose.
New Brunswick citizens over the age of 18 are also recommended to receive booster immunization if eligible, 5 months after the second dose.
The state states that 38.7 percent of eligible individuals received booster immunity.
