Published in a peer-reviewed journal on July 15th, JAMA DermatologyIn this study, 6 out of 21 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 and eruption enanthem were observed. Patients were 40-69 years old. Four out of six were women.
“This study explains preliminary observations and is limited by the small number of cases and the lack of a control group,” the study said.
All 6 patients had a skin rash and were COVID-19 positive. Physicians discovered various types of mouth rash and classified them into four categories: punctate, macula, macula with punctate, or erythema vesicles.
They said that the appearance of Enanthem occurred 2 and 24 days after the onset of COVID-19 symptoms. They assert that drug intake was not associated with a mouth rash.
