Issues with domain transfer on Cloudflare/Google Workspace

First off, I'll say I'm a budding developer and apologize for the longwinded explanation. I recently agreed to take on a website for a local medical/therapy business, which uses Google Workspace for email and links to the site. The previous admin registered the domain with Squarespace and set the DNS records to Hostgator, where the site itself is hosted. They recently changed their contact info and gave me admin privileges, but I got zero support so I was looking to migrate away from Squarespace. I wanted to use Namecheap as my registrar/DNS host. I'm in a situation where I absolutely need this service to never go down, or if it does, it's only for a very short time. SS I read on Reddit that users are using Cloudflare as a sort of middleman to point their site to CF's nameservers. Going through the process I discovered that Cloudflare can get all the records (including MX records) that I wasn't able to see (they can get MX records if they want). If I point my site to CF's nameservers, will CF support my site and email during the transfer to Namecheap? Namecheap has a FreeDNS service that seems to have similar functionality, but it requires more manual entry of records and involvement. They also recommend pointing the domain to both the original nameservers and FreeDNS before removing the original nameservers after 48 hours. As I recall, Cloudflare did not recommend pointing to both. My goal is to transfer everything so I can access all records in my account. I'm worried that my email functionality will be messed up during this process, but I know that if I have any issues with SS in the future, I may not get a response at all, and it may not be a quick response. If anyone can help me out, that would be great. I just want to make sure I do a good job and make things as seamless as possible for them. This is my first experience with a transfer. I would like to know how to address this issue, what records (if any) to migrate, and how to minimize downtime. Do I need to redirect my A/CNAME records to the rendering repository first before the nameservers? Same time? Etc. Thank you to everyone who read this article.
