WD1 Hockey Release Schedule for the 2024-25 Season; Ready to Defend National Title Starting September 26
ADRIAN, born — The Adrian College ACHA Division 1 women's hockey team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024-2025 season on Wednesday afternoon. Games will begin on September 26.
The WD1 Bulldogs are coming off a historic season after capturing the ACHA National Championship, the first national title for women's teams in Adrian College Athletics history, after finishing 2023-24 with a 30-6-1 record. The Bulldogs also captured the program's sixth consecutive CCWHA Conference Playoff Championship before winning nationally. Adrian defeated Indiana Tech in triple overtime in the conference playoff tournament before traveling to St. Louis, Missouri, where they defeated Arizona State, Michigan-Dearborn, Midland and Minot State to be crowned national champions in March. Adrian's historic season included 23 individual awards, including five All-American honors (Tess McKerrow, Allison Shaw, Chloe Burt, Kali Foerster, Sydney White), the award for the most valuable player of the national tournament (Macy Piche), and a finalist for the ACHA Women's Division 1 National Player of the Year Award (Shaw).
To kick off the 2024-25 season, the Bulldogs will welcome their conference opponent, Indiana Tech University, to Arrington Ice Arena for the team’s home opener and National Championship Banner Raising Ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs and Warriors will conclude their opening series on Friday, Sept. 27 in Fort Wayne.
The Bulldogs, who compete in the Central Collegiate Women's Hockey Association (CCWHA), will embark on a 14-game conference schedule throughout the season that will include series against Indiana Tech, Lake Superior State, Michigan-Dearborn, Miami-Ohio, Concordia-Ann Arbor, Michigan and Michigan State. Additionally, Adrian will take on Indiana Tech and Michigan-Dearborn in additional non-conference series.
Other notable non-conference matchups for the Bulldogs this upcoming season include home games with McKendree, Niagara (x2), Maryville (x2), Grand Valley (home and home), Rhode Island and Arizona State. In mid-November, the reigning champions travel to North Dakota for a three-game road series, including two games at Minot State and one at Jamestown. The team’s annual home-and-home series with Liberty University begins Oct. 25-26 in Adrian and Feb. 14-15 in Lynchburg, Virginia.

“I'm really happy with how our schedule turned out. We have a strong conference schedule this year, with the new CCWHA structure, and a really strong non-conference schedule. From the ten teams in the ACHA National Tournament last season, we have nine on our schedule for next season. I think we have a good team for next year, and the group is excited and hungry to defend our national title.”
