Prime Minister Narendra paid tribute to the Kargil War heroes at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass to mark the 25th anniversary of India's victory over Pakistan in 1999.

25th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas: Pakistan Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said Pakistan has failed in all its nefarious attempts in the past but has not learnt anything from its history. Paying tribute to the heroes of Kargil War at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass to mark the 25th anniversary of India's victory over Pakistan in 1999, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Pakistan is still trying to stay relevant with the help of terrorism and proxy war.

Warning supporters of “terrorism” that they will never achieve their goals, Modi said the “enemy” would receive a harsh response.

“Today, I am speaking from a place where the masters of terrorism can hear my voice directly. I want to tell these masters of terrorism that their nefarious intentions will never succeed. The Prime Minister laid a wreath at the Drass War Memorial to pay tribute to the officers and soldiers of the armed forces who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.

On July 26, 1999, the Indian Army announced the success of Operation Vijay, declaring victory after a nearly three-month battle in the icy heights of Kargil in Ladakh.

This day is celebrated as 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' to commemorate India's victory over Pakistan in the war.
