Amy Coney Barrett: Trump Supreme Court nominee ignores questions – BBC News
U.S. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett has avoided questions about her views on key issues on the second day of the Senate ratification session. The Conservative judge has repeatedly denied abortion, health and LGBTQ rights. He has stated that he has “no agenda” and has vowed to uphold the “rule of law”. If Judge Barrett passes the committee session, the entire Senate will vote on whether to ratify or reject a seat in the U.S. Supreme Court for life. Republicans want confirmation ahead of the Nov. 3 presidential election. It would give a nine-member tribunal a conservative 6-3 majority, likely to change the ideological balance of the court in the coming decades. Democrats fear Barrett’s successful appointment to the Supreme Court would lead to Republicans in politically sensitive cases. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a proposed replacement for Liberal Justice, who turned 87 last month. #BBCOS #BBCOutsideSource Subscribe HERE .
