The new service, AT&T TV, will have the same channels as those offered on DirecTV, but it will be broadcast on the Internet rather than on a satellite dish. AT&T has tested the service in a dozen markets and is now making it available to everyone.

AT&T will send subscribers an Android TV streaming box to use the service. The free device will also come with Netflix and other streaming apps, as does the Comcasts X1 cable box. Additional boxes cost $ 120.
