Bollywood Monster Mashup returns to Brampton for a week in September

One of the biggest South Asian festivals in Canada returns to Brampton for a week of free activities and concerts.

The #BollywoodMonsterMashup kicks off September 6 with soca and Bollywood dance lessons, painting, and live interviews, all airing on Facebook at 4 p.m. ET.

The concert series will air from September 10-11, with performances on Facebook Live by Raftaar, Harshdeep Kaur and Priyanka, Canada’s first Drag Race winner, among others.

New to this year’s festival lineup will be a number of original dance and music productions created by Kohli and Ev Harris, titled “BollywoodMonster Orchestra: Raags to Riddim”.

These productions will present mashups between Bollywood, reggae songs and dance hall accompanied by original choreography.

Some of the songs featured will be “One Love” by Bob Marley, “Pon De Replay” by Rihanna and “Jump in the Line” by Harry Belafonte.

Patricia Jaggernauth, Amish Patel, Amin Dhillion and Dilshad Burman will host this year’s festivals and activities.
