A New York City restaurant transformed its parking lot into a movie theater with road access during the coronavirus pandemic. (May 14)

AP Domestic

The country begins to open after months of foreclosure, but social distance and health precautions are still just as important. And although theater chains like AMC are preparing to return next month, taking a movie behind the wheel may seem appealing, especially for families.

Cinemas with direct access have the advantages of watching in person while staying in the comfort, privacy and security of your own vehicle. Social distancing is built-in, as cars are often parked six feet or more apart, and the appropriate COVID-19 protocols facilitate enjoyment while staying safe.

We have put together a list of old and new converts across the country for you to check. Scroll down to see if there is one near you.
