276 apartments begin to take shape at 1546 N Argyle Avenue in Hollywood
Almost a year after our visittimber framing reaches its peak at 1546 N. Argyle Avenue in Hollywoodwhere Mill Creek Residential Trust hard at work on his latest apartment complex in the Los Angeles area.
Modera Argyle, located on the southeast corner of Argyle and Selma Avenue, will eventually consist of a seven-story building with 276 studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments and a grocery store on the ground floor. Mill Creek secured rights for the project using density bonuses to allow for greater height and floor area than would otherwise be permitted under zoning rules. In exchange, 13 of the apartments must be set aside as affordable housing for very low incomes.
AC Martin is designing the contemporary podium-like building, which will be wrapped in cantilevered balconies and mesh screens. Planned amenities include a courtyard pool and a terraced deck on the upper level.

Modera Argyle is set for completion in 2024.
The project is the latest in a long line of large apartment buildings to emerge from the blocks surrounding the Hollywood/Vine subway station, including all 507 units Apartments and bungalows El Centro and a 287-unit Camden Property Trust apartment complex. The site is also just east of a former CBS radio broadcast facility, which Kilroy Realty has converted into a mixed-use complex consisting of housing, offices and shopsand directly north of the parking lots serving the Hollywood Palladium, where developer Crescent Heights plans to build a pair of 28-story apartment towers.
