Carnival will kick off Senior Survivor Week at HPS

HOWL It's senior survivor season again at Howell Public Schools.
Details will be revealed during the Senior Survivor Carnival from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, August 19 at the HHS Field House. The carnival will feature games, entertainment, arts and crafts, raffles, inflatables and much more.
Admission to the carnival is $10 for ages 3 to 18, but free for adults and young children. An adult must accompany students in eighth grade or younger. All funds raised will support the goal of Senior Survivor.
The carnival will launch HPS into Senior Survivor Week, beginning Sunday, April 21, when 15 members of the Class of 2024 arrive at HHS to compete. Each day, contestants will raise funds and compete in immunity and reward challenges.
The two students who bring in the least amount of money daily will be eliminated and sent home. The student who brings in the most money on the last day of the competition will be declared the winner.
This year, Senior Survivor is supporting Community Catalysts. Community Catalysts is a Howell-based nonprofit organization that provides quality, affordable housing and supportive services to seniors, veterans and the homeless. The charity was selected by HHS senior class student council members, said Annie Brady, senior survivor advisor.
The (senior class) participated all year in events to raise money for the charity of their choice, Brady said. These fundraisers have included everything from high school open swim times to movie and quiz nights. They do everything from organizing the event and marketing it to determining their profit.
