Vidya Balan reveals superstitious former director wore the same shorts on set for 42 days: The film blew up | Bollywood News

Actress Vidya Balan has revealed a hilarious anecdote about a director she worked with who followed a strange superstition on set. During an appearance on comedian Raunaq Rajani's YouTube channel, the actor spoke about his experience, but did not reveal the name of the film. Vidya appeared in television shows before making her film debut with Parineeta.

“I was on a film set where the director wore the same shorts for 42 days because he was superstitious. I actually didn't notice it because I wasn't looking, but I heard about it. What's interesting is that the film was a real success,” she said. When asked the name of the film or the director, Vidya laughed and added, “Actually, I forgot the name.”

This is not the first time that Vidya has spoken about strange things that filmmakers have done, including nasty comments against her. She was called “unlucky” and replaced by several projects when some of her early films in the Malayalam industry were shelved.

During Expresso, the actor had recalled being ghosted by a producer of a Tamil film she was working on. After a few days, she learned that she had been replaced. The producer said, I got it customer read. She's out of luck. When Vidya and her parents met him in Chennai and confronted him, the producer asked them: Does she even look like a heroine?

Vidya is currently seen on the big screen in Making and making love, a romantic drama starring Pratik Gandhi. The film also stars Ileana D'Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy, and is an adaptation of Debra Winger-starrer The Lovers, about two people who rediscover love after making a mistake.
