BTS postpones its world tour in the middle of a coronavirus pandemic
Having already canceled their concerts in Seoul, the largest group in the world was due to launch their tour on April 25 in Santa Clara, California.
BTS is postponing the dates to come to North America for its world tour in the midst of the new coronavirus pandemic underway.
The highly anticipated Soul tour map was scheduled to start April 25 and 26 in Santa Clara, California, followed by three days at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in early May and taking place in Dallas, Orlando, Atlanta, New Jersey, Washington and Toronto before ending June 5 and 6 at Soldier Field in Chicago. But with the virus continuing to spread in the United States, the group’s label, Big Hit Entertainment, has decided to postpone these tour stops.
All tickets will be honored for the new dates, said Big Hit.
For the moment, the rest of the world tour – BTS should go on tour in Europe in July before a series of Japanese domes concerts at the end of summer – remains on the program. The group had already made the decision to cancel its four launch dates in mid-April in its native Korea in February, when the epidemic of that time seriously affected Asia. These tickets were automatically refunded, although many members of the famous BTS fan base – known as ARMY – chose to donate their refunds to the coronavirus rescue efforts in Korea. According to South China Morning Post, as of March 18, more than 11,000 fans have collectively contributed half a billion won (more than $ 410,000) to help fight the virus.
