Actor Arjun Rampal summoned by NCB on Friday – The New Indian Express

MUMBAI: Gabriella Demetriades, partner of Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, appeared before the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) here for day two on Thursday, as he himself was summoned on Friday, an official said .

The NCB, which is investigating suspected drug use in Bollywood, questioned Demetriades for nearly six hours on Wednesday.

She was questioned again on Thursday at the BCN’s zonal office at Ballard Estate in south Mumbai, the official said.

Rampal was summoned on Friday, he added.

The NCB summoned Rampal and Demetriades after conducting a raid on the actor’s residence on Monday.

The investigative agency seized electronic gadgets such as laptops, cellphones and tablets during the raid and also questioned the actor’s driver.

A day before the Rampal raid, NCB arrested the wife of Bollywood producer Firoz Nadiadwala after ganja was reportedly found at their residence in the suburb of Juhu.

Last month Gabriella’s brother Agisilaos Demetriades was arrested by NCB at a resort town in Lonavala, in neighboring Pune district, over a drug case, the official said.

The BCN has launched an investigation into suspected drug use in Bollywood after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June.

The central agency arrested Rajput’s girlfriend, actor Rhea Chakraborty, his brother Showik and a few others under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).

Rhea and a few other defendants are currently out on bail.
