- On Wednesday January 20, ESPN Podcasts will launch a new weekly offering, First take, its take, with a format similar to ESPN TV’s morning talk show, First take. The new podcast will feature three prominent women in sport – Charly Arnolt, Kimberley A. Martin and Chiney Ogwumike of ESPN – discussing the biggest sports stories, but also offering insight into their backgrounds and unique personalities as they go. they explore other subjects concerning their life and their culture.
- Arnolt, who first gained attention for his role as Charly Caruso on WWE shows after appearances on local television in his hometown of Indianapolis and Kansas City, hosts some editions of First take. She graduated summa cum laude in audiovisual journalism from the American University.
- Martin joined ESPN last March as a year-round NFL reporter after nearly a decade covering the league for Yahoo, Washington Post, Buffalo News and Newsday. After graduating from Wesleyan University, she received her MA in Magazines, Newspapers, and Online Journalism from SI Newhouse School of Public Communications in Syracuse.
- Ogwumike, an active WNBA player for the Los Angeles Sparks and a former Stanford No. 1 draft pick, originally joined ESPN as a studio commentator in 2017. In addition to regular appearances on The Jump and SportsCenter in As an NBA analyst, in August 2020, she started hosting Chiney and Golic Jr., becoming the first black woman to host a daily national sports radio show.
