Kim Kardashianrevealed she was wearing another legendary movie star Marilyn Monroe‘s iconic dresses after releasing the infamous “naked dress” at this year’s Met Gala.

This is the dress Monroe wore when she sang President John F Kennedy “Happy Birthday Mr. President” in 1962.

Kim’s decision to wear the dress to the Met Gala drew quite a bit of criticism. First, there was Kim’s confession to the really crazy diet she kept incorporating into the dress. Then there were criticisms that wearing Marilyn Monroe’s dress was disrespectful, both to the star herself and to fashion history.

9Honey ReporterNathalie Oliviericriticized Kim’s decision wearing the dress, emphasizing that it is a historical artifact.

“The dress, because of its historical significance, should never have been allowed out of its protective home into a museum where it can be kept for generations to come,” she wrote.

“Instead, the structural integrity of the garment was put at risk, no matter how careful attempts were made to keep it safe.”

But now Kim is courting more controversy (it really took a lot for me not to spell controversy with a “K”).

She revealed she wore another Marilyn Monroe dress after the Met Gala. This time it was a gorgeous green dress that Monroe wore to the 1962 Golden Globes.

“To top off my night after the Met, I had the honor of donning Marilyn Monroe’s Norman Norell dress that she wore to the Golden Globes in 1962 where she received the Henrietta Award for Favorite of World Film,” Kim Kardashian wrote on social media.

“It will forever be one of the greatest privileges of my life to be able to channel my inner Marilyn in this way, on such a special night.”

She also held the actual Gold Globe that Monroe won, as it belongs to Kim’s friendJeff Leatham. He is the artistic director of the very chic hotel chain Four Seasons.

In her Insta carousel, Kim wears the dress slightly differently than Marilyn Monroe, who wore it as a bare back.

“Wait until Marilyn didn’t put her arms in the armholes!? Iconic lol,”Chrissy Teigen commented. She’s right, it’s pretty iconic.

Kim also posted photos on her Insta Story showing her wearing the dress as Monroe styled it.

Predictably, Kim’s decision to wear the second dress received a mixed response.

Many people commented on how stunning she looked in the dress, but others were more critical.

“It’s kinda weird,” one person commented on their Insta. I think that sums up the backlash perfectly.

Whatever your thoughts and feelings about dresses, I think we can all agree on one thing: the rich are completely nuts.
