Happy Days is back at the fashion show and lunch
Friends of Vista Hill and the JMS Fund presented a fashion show and luncheon April 19 at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego. This year's theme was Happy Days, as the iconic TV sitcom reached the 50-year mark since it first aired in January 1974. Many guests came all dressed in 1950s outfits and were ready to rock for 24 hours out of 24.
The event began with a social hour and fun shopping from local designers and boutiques. The afternoon’s emcee was Misha DiBono. The co-chairs were Carolyn Lennon and Diane Zeps. The fashion show was choreographed and coordinated by Gretchen Bergman of Gretchen Productions. She combines dance, theater and fashion on the catwalk, creating a unique production for the audience. Each segment had names reminiscent of the 1950s such as The Fonz and Rock Around the Clock. The start of the show began with models walking in black and white, which was very reminiscent of the 50s.
Joey Molina sang Bohemian Rhapsody and blew the audience away. The crowd went wild as the models presented clothes from GK Fashion House. Another crowd pleaser was Charli Beck, who paraded around on roller skates holding a tray in one hand, recreating the look of car jumps of yesteryear. The finale featured stunning gowns from Macys as models glided effortlessly down the runway, ready for a lavish celebration or gala.
Vista Hills is a non-profit organization and net proceeds from this show benefit Vista Hills behavioral health programs serving children, youth, adults and families.
