Turkish President vows to eliminate terrorist threat not only in Trkiye but in the region
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday expressed his determination to eliminate the terrorist threat not only in Trkiye but in the entire region in the future.
“We are determined to show that terrorism has no place in the future of Trkiye and the region. With the recent elections, this determination has been further strengthened,” Erdogan said during his iftar speech (break-the-fast dinner) with security officials in Istanbul. the capital Ankara.
He also stressed that terrorism is a non-political issue that must be treated differently.
Erdogan said all terrorist groups, including the PKK, FETO, ISIS and DHKP-C, are “enemies” of the Turkish people.
During its nearly 40-year terrorist campaign against Trkiye, the PKK, considered a terrorist organization by Trkiye, the US and the EU, was responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women , children and infants.
FETO and its US-based leader, Fethullah Gülen, orchestrated the July 15, 2016 failed coup in Trkiye, in which 252 people were killed and 2,734 injured.
