Erdogan warns of extension of conflict in region if Israel persists in attacks on Palestinians
Trkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned on Saturday of the danger of an escalation of tensions and an extension of the conflict if Israel continues its attacks against the Palestinians, during his meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Choukry.
President Erdogan stressed the importance of reducing tensions between Israel and Iran to prevent the entire region from descending into conflict, emphasizing the essential need for Islamic nations to collaborate to achieve this goal, the communications directorate said of the country on X.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries and developments related to the Israeli attacks on Gaza, as well as global and regional issues, were discussed, the statement added.
Erdogan stressed the importance of reducing tensions between Israel and Iran to prevent the region from falling into a spiral of conflict.
