Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) participated in the process of comparing and searching (coklit) voter data for the 2024 simultaneous regional elections (Pilkada) at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on Wednesday (24/07/2024). The coklit process was carried out by agents updating voter data (pantarlih) from Gambir village.

“I met with the President and provided data matching and provided a form to register as a voter in DKI Jakarta and of course the data was recorded by the KPUD,” said Acting. DKI Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono in his statement after accompanying the President in the coklit process.

During the coklit process, President Jokowi showed a number of files such as population identity cards (KTP) and family cards (KK) to be verified with existing data. After being declared fit, the President was given proof of registration and a blackout sticker which was then affixed to the Palace gate.

Betty Epsilon, Head of the Data and Information Division of the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, said that President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana had registered to exercise their right to vote according to the KPU data. Meanwhile, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana registered at polling station (TPS) number 06, Gambir village.

“Here, there are two (voters) in a KK of Mr. Jokowi, there are two voters who will use their voting rights in accordance with the KK in the documents they have and completely in accordance with the voter list held by the General Election Commission,” Betty said.

In addition, DKI Jakarta Provincial KPU Chairman Wahyu Dinata expressed his gratitude to President Jokowi for his willingness to carry out the coklit process. He also invited the public to check their names on the voter list.
