The Fresno State teacher faces criticism after publications on social networks show Trump in Coffin

Fresno, California (KFSN) – A Fresno state teacher is now under fire for social networks showing President Trump in a coffin.

“It is the fact that she declares that our president had died and that the Republicans died,” Action News said the Fresno County supervisor, Garry Bredefeld.

He criticizes Katherine Shurik, highlighting an article on Facebook in which Shurik seemed to wish death on the president, Elon Musk, and the Republicans, whom she called Nazis.

Bredefeld went to social networks, assimilating Shurik to “hateful and radical radical crazy”, saying that they have “any commercial education anywhere”.

“I will defend his right from the first amendment to do so,” said Bredefeld. “I have the right to the first amendment to criticize it, and I do it.”

Action News saw Shurik on Saturday when she protested a Tesla dealer in the northwest of Fresno.

She posted a poster for a next demonstration and said she would grant students to credit students if they were present.

“I don't think it's the kind of people we want to teach young people,” said Bredefeld.

The state of Fresno seems to be distant from Shurik, calling for his “odious” messages.

Bredefeld says he spoke with the president of the state of Fresno Sal Jimnez-Sandoval on Monday morning.

“He expressed his concern that these types of statements are published by this professor,” said Bredefeld about Jimnez-Sandoval.

Shurik describes herself on Facebook as a liberal activist and previously declared that she was teaching an activist anthropology course.

“Politics should be discussed,” said Bredefeld. “But calling for the death of the President of the United States, calling for the death of the Republicans, comparing them to the Nazis – I think it crosses a line.”

The controversial positions of teachers have already occurred in Fresno State.

In 2018, another teacher kept his job after calling Barbara Bush an “incredible racist”. The leaders of the time said that these comments had not violated university policy.
