Lopez earns B1G Singles win as tennis drops decision in Maryland
COLLEGE PARK, Md. The Rutgers women's tennis team (10-10, 1-8 B1G) dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 52 Maryland (13-9, 4-5 B1G) on Saturday afternoon at the Junior Tennis Champion Center. Jackeline Lopez her first conference singles win of the season in the rout.
Double
Maryland earned wins on the first and second lanes to claim the doubles point and an early lead in the dual.
Singles
The Terrapins extended their lead to 3-0 with wins on courts No. 1 and 3.
Lopez added a point for RU with a B1G victory on the sixth court. The junior defeated Francesca Feodorov in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.
UMD then clinched the dual with a victory on the fourth track.
