Men's tennis Cleveland State falls to top-seeded Ohio State in the first round of NCAA track and field
Columbus, OH – The Cleveland State men's tennis team ended its 2024 spring season on Friday, losing a 4-0 match to top-seeded Ohio State in an NCAA first-round match.
The Vikings finish the 2024 season with an overall record of 21-7, which marks the most wins in a single season in program history.
Cleveland State was playing in its ninth NCAA tournament, and first since 2021.
Senior Kade Mindry finished his Cleveland State career with 62 singles wins, while Mikael Erler finished with 52 – the only two current Vikings with more than 50 wins as a Viking.
Carl Gedlitschka finished the 2024 campaign with 27 team singles victories, tied for seventh on the CSU Single-Season Wins List.
Gedlitschka also teamed with JuandeDios Abboud to finish the year ranked third on the CSU Doubles Wins List, with a 34-22 all-time record as a tandem.
Gedlitschka and Abboud also finished 10th on the CSU Single-Season Wins List with a 19-12 record this season, while Devin Boyer and Lincoln Battle finished seventh on the list with a team-best 20-5 record.
