Ahmedabad: City Paddler Prasunna Parech three won medals at the recently concluded ITTF World Masters Table Tennis Championships 2024 over Rome.
The 48-year-old Prasunna and her doubles partner Meenu Basak won the 45+ women's doubles tournament by beating Ukrainian duo Nataliia Ostrovska and Halyna Telna 3-1 (5-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-3) in the top-tier match.
In the women's singles 45+, Prasunna had to settle for bronze after losing 2-3 (11-6, 9-11, 11-9, 5-11, 8-11) to Denmark's Janne Jensen in the semi-final.
The former Gujarat world No. 1 then teamed up with K Srivatsa Chakravarty in the 45+ mixed doubles tournament and clinched a bronze medal after the Indian duo lost 0-3 (6-11, 7-11, 10-12) in their last four games to Danish pair Henrik Vendelbo and Janne Jensen.
Prasunna, currently India's number 2 in the women's 39+ singles category, won two silver medals in women's singles and doubles at the 2023 World Veterans Tournament held in Doha, Qatar. TNN
