Ryan Leonard scores in the sixth straight game and is named Hockey East Player of the Week
Ryan Leonard is the most popular player in college hockey, and Monday afternoon he received accolades for his recent play.
After scoring in his sixth straight game against the Northeastern Huskies on Saturday night, the 19-year-old winger was named Hockey East Player of the Week. Leonard finished the week with six points (5g, 1a) in three games for the Boston College Eagles.
The Player of the Week honor is Leonard's second of the season, with the first coming at the end of October.

Leonard extended his scoring streak against the Huskies in BC's 4-2 loss. After Mike Posma hit a shot off goalkeeper Cameron Whitehead's pads, Leonard crashed the net to slam home his 11th goal of the season.
Leonard is now the nation's joint-leading scorer with 11 goals, joining Denver's Sam Harris, who has played one more game. Harris' shooting percentage (33.3%) is also more than 17 percent higher than Leonard's (16.2%). Leonard's 68 shots on goal this season rank third in the country.
If Leonard were to play another 41-game season for the Eagles, he would be on pace to score 37 goals this year, which would rank fifth all-time in a single NCAA season by an under-20 skater.
James Hagens, Leonard's linemate, was also named Hockey East Rookie of the Week. Hagens, the consensus No. 1 overall selection of the 2025 NHL Draft, assisted on three of Leonard's five goals.
