Krishna Shanmuganathan voted Kent Cricket's chair

After the annual General Meeting of the Clubs (AGM) on Tuesday 25 March, Kent Cricket was pleased to announce that board member Krishna Shanmuganathan was chosen as the new chairman of the clubs, successor to Jamie Clifford.

Kent Crickets Board met after the AVA and found that Krish Kent Kent would be Crickets, with Jamie Clifford to stay in the club as vice chairman. Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, was cooperated to ensure performance cricket representation on the board.

Krish, born in Dartford and raised in Bromley, is an experienced non-executive director and chairman, with almost 30 years of experience in leadership roles in the government, financial services and business advice.

He is currently chairman of two listed investment companies, mainly focused on Asian shares. He was careful at Hakluyt & Company, a worldwide strategic consultancy. Before that he supervised external research at Fidelity Investments and started his career with a stint of ten years in the foreign and Commonwealth Office.

He still plays cricket for Farningham Cricket Club in the Kent County Village League and is actively involved in coaching his junior sides.

It has been a real privilege to serve as chairman of Kent Cricket for the past nine months, said Jamie Clifford, now appointed vice chairman.

I have previously indicated that I would resign after the AGM of the clubs, I do this with a real sense of excitement for what comes for it.

There is no doubt that this is an important period for the club, and I wish Krish every success while he steps in the role of chairman. I am really looking forward to supporting him as a vice chair while we know that Cricket continues to move together.

Four non-executing drivers of Kent Cricket had ratified their term extensions at the AVM of the clubs:

• Laura Tough (Board Lead: Equity, Diversity & Inclusion): 380 votes in front, 80 against
• Sasha White (Board Lead: Development Advisory Group): 420 votes in front, 40 against
• Krishna Shanmuganathan (club chair): 389 votes in front, 71 against
