Frances Cricket Haynes Bailey, 85, from Chattanooga, died peacefully on Monday 31 March 2025 in a local care institution.

Cricket was born in Chattanooga in Russell and Virginia Haynes on July 5, 1939.

She was an avid sewer and quilter and spent many hours at the sewing machine to make clothing and quilts. She was a member of various sewing and quilting guilds. Cricket was very involved with the Womens Bible Study Class in Ridgedale Baptist Church. She regularly went to church with her deceased husband Charlie. She also enjoyed many family holidays over the years with her husband Charlie and their two sons. Daytona Beach was a favorite vacation spot for the family. After her husband retired, they enjoyed traveling through the US.

She graduated from Chattanooga City High School in 1956, member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church and member of the daughters of the American Revolution. Cricket was extensively involved in genealogy and family history.

She was preceded in death by her 61 -year -old husband, Charles Charlie L. Bailey, father, Russell Haynes, Sr., mother, Virginia Haynes and brother, Russell Haynes, Jr.

She is survived by her two sons, Charles David (Mary Beth) Bailey of Tunnel Hill, Ga., And Troy Alan (Beth) Bailey van Ringgold, Ga., Grandsons, Adam and Andrew and Zus, Sandy Rogers.

The family will receive friends from 122 hours on Saturday 5 April in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A service on the grave will be performed at 2.30 pm on Saturday 5 March on the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in McDonald, TN., With Pastor David Nix.
