Series History

Babson has only three wins in 62 all-time matches against MIT in a series dating from the 1983-84 campaign.
The Beavers have dropped three straight matches against the engineers who go back to the Newmac final of 2023.
The only victory for Green and White on MIT in the last decade was a 6-3 judgment on April 14, 2023.

No. 29 Babson suffered a 5-0 loss for No. 21 MIT in the Newmac Tournament final on 28 April 2024 in the Dupont Tennis Courts in Cambridge.

MIT (5-4, 3-0 Newmac) won his last two games with NewMac victories on Wheaton (7-0) on March 22 and Springfield (6-1) on Wednesday in Cambridge.
The engineers wiped the doubles against Springfield, with first -year Youngwoo Tahk and graduated student Joseph Li who needed a tiebreaker at number three. MIT conquered singles competitions in the top five flights, with graduated student Kailas Kahler, second -year Siddharth Marathe, graduated student Tim Schmedding, and juniors Jeremy Yu and Nicholas Liu all win in straight sets.
Kahler, the double Newmac player of the year, is 4-2 in double matches this year, all at number one, while Xiao 3-1 is at number two and 5-1 in general. Marathe is 6-0 in Duals, including 3-0 at number five, and Choudhary is 5-3 general, including 3-2 at number four.
Sophomore Grant Gallagher and first-year Sanghyuk im have played in the number one double lock in eight games, with 3-5, while Adam Sun and Li 3-3 are at number two.

The engineers and beavers were chosen 1-2 in the NewMac survey for the preseason that was released before the start of the season.

The 18 singles victories of Wang are a shy of the single-season record of the David Weisman '98 program, which in 1998 ended a perfect 19-0 on the way to capturing the only NCAA Division III title of the program.
In combination with his 10 Doubles victories, Wang is also only two shy by Jon Martin's '05 Single-Season Record of 30 combined victories set back in 2003-04.
In addition, Anderson (12), Lepsoe (12) and Merson (12) are only four victories removed from the matching of the single-season record of the Beavers of 16 held by Martin (2003-04), Mike Brooks '05 (2003-04), Brandon Rosenbluth '18 (2016-17).
