UN -Posest stamps commemorate Sport for Development and Peace |
On April 6, the Postal Administration (UNPA) of the United Nations celebrated the International Sports Day for Development and Peace with the issue of six stamps and three souvenir plates.
The United Nations have long recognized the power and universality of sport to unite people of all ages and skills. The stamps emphasize the importance of the positive role that sport and physical activities play in communities and in human lives around the world.
The six stamp designs in USD, Swiss Frank and Euro -Coupures show the following:

1.20 Volleyball
In addition to the stamps, the souvenir magazines present the following:

The three souvenir magazines also contain a statement from Secretary-General Antnio Guterres in English, French and German.

The artwork on both the stamps and the souvenir magazines were illustrated by Bill Butcher of the United Kingdom. The general design of the stamp series was reached by Sergio Baradat of the UN Postal Administration Design Team.
