New Overwatch 2 Hero Venture is now available to play in Weekend Trials

There are a lot of changes coming to Overwatch 2 when Season 10 begins next month, but the introduction of new heroes will always be the biggest update. Venture is his DPS hero with a completely different kit than anything we've seen before. We've been waiting a few months since we first tried out this non-binary hero at his BlizzCon, but we have some good news. Now he can check Venture in-game.

Just as Mauga entered the game early for a trial weekend, Venture is available in all modes except Competitive until March 31st. It's worth noting that the No Limits mode is live in the arcade, so everyone has the opportunity to try out the newcomer. You can join the match without waiting.

Venture has only been around for a few days now, but once it officially joins the lineup in Season 10, it will soon be available for everyone to play for free. All other Overwatch 2 heroes will be unlocked for everyone when the new season begins, and from now on all heroes will be immediately available for free to all players, of course.

Let's take a quick look at the Ventures kit.

In addition to the role-based damage path, there are two other passives. Explorers Resolve gives Venture a temporary shield when using abilities. The Clobber passive means that Venture deals additional damage when performing a quick melee attack.

Ventures' weapon is called the Smart Excavator. Fires a seismic charge that explodes after traveling a short distance. Venture doesn't seem to be suitable for long-range attacks. So it's just as well that they have his two movement abilities to quickly close the distance.

Barrow sees Venture use that drill to travel underground, becoming invincible in the process. It deals damage when it jumps out of the ground. Drill Dash is a forward dash that can knock enemies backwards. This ability also works in the air.

Ventures Ultimate is called Tectonic Shock. This sends a damaging shockwave across the battlefield.

That's the whole point of the new hero. I'm sure we'll learn more about them and their backstories soon. In the meantime, let's find out how much fun they are.
