Cyberpunk 2077 “works fine” on the console and console gameplay may start shortly

Marcin Momot of CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 has no console performance issues. According to Momot, the game “works fine” and details about this will be shared shortly.

I haven’t seen Cyberpunk 2077 running on the current generation consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One yet. As expected, the gameplay footage that CD Projekt Red began revealing this year was captured on high-end PCs. This can be a reason for concern if you plan to play this long-awaited title on your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

However, Marcin Momot on CD Projekt Red reassured the player that Cyberpunk 2077 would work perfectly fine on the console. When asked about console frame rate and visual fidelity, Momot simply replied, “It works fine.”

He added that CD Projekt Red will soon share more information about game performance on the console. “I’ll share more about it in the near future,” he said.

As you may know, some sources claim that one of the reasons for Cyberpunk 2077’s first delay is poor performance on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, especially the Xbox One S. Whether this is really the case is not known after CD Projekt. Red has never officially commented on this issue.

Of course, since the first delay, developers have spent a lot of time optimizing their games. So there is no doubt that Cyberpunk 2077 will actually work fine on current generation systems.

Cyberpunk 2077 will also arrive on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X on the first day, but a more robust patch that uses the full power of these new consoles will be available in 2021.
