Los Angeles comes out losing on the road to LAFC on Friday, 3-2. As Samuel Grandier tied the match to make it 1-1 early in the second half, Los Angeles fizzled out, conceding a quick brace from LAFC, so Ryan Ravelloson’s late goal was more consolation than anything else. It was frustrating on the heels of a thrilling win at the start of the week, but one thing the Galaxy – who are still in playoffs, only – can pick up and try for the next win.

San Jose faced Toronto FC in Ontario on Saturday, drawing 2-2. Jack Scahan grabbed the stoppage-time equalizer to split the points, which was a surprise, but Jeremy Ibobisi had the first goal of the game, and the Earthquakes striker has been excellent this season, scoring 10 goals in the league game so far. The San Jose attack has given them something they need, and with Matias Almeida no coach, the Earthquakes are like a regular team once again and they are less willing to screw up matches on their own.

We know the Cali Clasico brings the heat, and the Galaxy will need to tune them to just the right level to get the score but don’t spoil and leave the door open for San Jose. Both teams really need to win, and even in the middle of the week, it’s sure to be a match that can’t be missed. Let’s go!
