Another Earthquake? New Jersey Residents Say Their Homes Shaked

NORTH JERSEY — Residents in North Jersey and along the coast posted on social media Tuesday that they felt their homes shake, but as of noon, there were no official reports of an earthquake like the one the area felt in April.

Several residents on the East Coast also reported seeing the fireball between 11:15 and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to records from the American Meteorological Society. The Perseid meteor shower became visible in this area on Sunday and will continue into August.

After people felt the powerful earthquake on Friday, April 5, in North Jersey, several aftershocks occurred.

The US Geological Survey reported that smaller earthquakes had recently occurred in the New Egypt and California areas of New Jersey, but not on Tuesday.

Last year, a marine sonic storm shook parts of New Jersey and Delaware. And yesterday, residents of the Chicago area felt a 3.4-magnitude earthquake.
