New York police have released new photos of an unmasked man wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of a health care director. UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, 50, was shot Wednesday morning outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. The assailant fled the scene without taking anything from Thompson. Police believe the victim was the target of a premeditated murder. Investigators are also using facial recognition technology and examining bullet casings with cryptic messages written on them in an attempt to track down the killer. The ammunition included the words “deny,” “defend,” and “reject.” It has been suggested that this is a reference to the methods used by the US health insurance industry to reduce or deny claims for payments.
