Judges interrupting Parliament is illegal – BBC News

Deputies have called for Parliament to recover immediately following a landmark move by Scotland’s highest civil court. The Edinburgh Session Court ruled that the UK Prime Minister’s decision to suspend the Westminster Parliament for 5 weeks was illegal.

They unanimously stated that Boris Johnson was “an outspoken target” for Parliament.

The case is set to go to the UK Supreme Court next week. Downing Street said the ruling was disappointing and that Parliament’s prorogation was “legal and necessary”.

We also have government documents on Brexit planning, the Brexit division of the Labor Party and the recent Brexit party rally.

Presented by Westminster’s Huw Edwards Reports by Laura Kuenssberg, Clive Coleman, Sarah Smith, John Pienaar, Alex Forsyth and Faisal Islam.
