More than one in 5 secondary school students in England are out of school due to coronavirus, the highest number since September. Keeping children in the classroom has been one of the government’s key goals, saying half a million laptops go to schools to help isolating students. But it is a policy that poses tremendous challenges for both students and staff. Before the pandemic, it was generally about 95% of those who went to school.
