Coronavirus: US death toll in one day – BBC News

The US recorded the highest number of coronavirus deaths in a single day, with more than 1,800 deaths on Tuesday.

The number of deaths in the country is estimated at nearly 13,000, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

The US has more than 398,000 cases, the largest number in the world. Global cases exceed 1.4 million.

However, in a press conference President Donald Trump said the US will reach the “curve”.

Meanwhile, the city of Wuhan in China, when the infection emerged, ended its 11-week blockade.
