A 4.2 magnitude earthquake near Beslig, Surigao del Sur, Caraja, Philippines, was reported just 26 minutes ago by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), which is the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 16 km below the epicenter early on Wednesday morning January 27, 2021 at 5:04 am local time. The exact size, focus and depth of an earthquake may be reviewed within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or when other agencies release their report.
