Bash: The real reason GOP senator is fighting the Covid-19 bailout bill
A large part of the Republican Party – despite killing more than half a million Americans – is still facing pandemic II. It acts as a platform for a political platform rather than a serious national crisis since World War II. New ideological divisions appear in the Senate on Thursday with a huge bailout bill for President Joe Biden’s Covid-19. Governments of GOP governments in Texas, Mississippi and many other places may be in a new rush to step up measures that have facilitated a tremendous alleviation of post-holiday infections – a similar and ultimately deplorable opening at the request of former President Donald Trump last summer. These moves by some governors – and possible 2024 GOP presidential candidates such as Kristi Noem of South Dakota and Ron DeSantis of Florida – prompted conservative activists to keep their states open while the worst of the virus was outraged. Not all Republican governors have accepted conservative orthodoxy that rejects mask skepticism and scientific advice. Some, such as Larry Hogan of Maryland and Mike DeWine of Ohio, for example, have won praise from both parties for their strategies. But in the Trump era, where there is a broader tendency to put political goals above the recommendations of government scientists, what’s left of the Trump era is evident as Washington’s $ 1.9 trillion Covid-19 relief plan draws lines. The reason is that Democrats have to deal with Republican arguments in principle to see if they are directing the gut of spending or rewarding pet reasons and needing tremendous support from states and cities. And 10 Republicans wanted to make that case so that Biden could sign a $ 600 billion stimulus to underestimate the magnitude of the health and economic crisis the president tried. But GOP leaders also have a problem. Biden’s measure is surprisingly well-known, so they need to slow it down and discredit its content in order to reap some political benefits and take away the net victory for the new president. So Sen. Ron Johnson, an R-Wisconsin-based conspiracy-driven effort that has taken little time to acquit Trump supporters of the Capitol insurgency, is organizing days with threats that will spark debate over the package, with unemployment benefits for millions of Americans. it will be sold out in a few days, for the conservative cable TV farce. “We’re talking $ 1.9 trillion … a billion-dollar pile that would stretch halfway to the moon. And we want to do that in a few hours? I don’t think that’s right,” Johnson said Wednesday. The senator intends to force a full reading of the bill (which will take 10 hours) and prolong the debate with numerous trap procedures. #CNN #NewDay #DanaBash.
